REGISTRATION DEADLINE:
1-Apr-08

Cost:
$35 per golfer (or sub) registration – includes handicap.

$16/round (to be verified) Green Fees paid each league night to PC.

Format: Team match play.
A team may include any number of golfers however only 4 members of the team will compete in a match each week. All golfers must carry a current 18 - hole GHIN handicap card with a USGA index of 40 or less. The GHIN fee is included in the cost of player registration.
Golfer's with an 18 hole handicap of over 40 (or a 9-hole handicap index that is over 20 are welcome to participate in the league but will be required to play to a 20 handicap (no more than 20 strokes will be given per 9 holes).

All members of teams with 4 players will be expected to play each week. If a team member cannot play, she is responsible for finding her own sub*. If a sub does not play in leiu of an absent player, that player's match is deemed a forfeit.
Teams may roster more than players and figure out a rotation or, simply declare specific players as subs. It is the discretion of the team to decide how they wish to organize themselves.

Matches and tee times are pre-determined for the entire summer so it's easy to set up your subs in advance to accommodate your personal schedules. The league will maintain a list of “subs” but it's not required that you use these players. *A sub can be ANY female player with a GHIN handicap card from any league! How great is that?!

Here's an example of how it works:
Each week 4 team members from team “A” and 4 members from team “B” will meet on the tee at their designated tee time. These 8 gals then determine the “matches” (figure out which four players from team “A” will play which golfers from team “B”) and they tee off 10 minutes apart. A schedule of matches and tee times will be provided in advance of the season.

If you miss your match for ANY reason and do not have a sub playing for you, your team will receive a forfeit (zero points) and 9 points will be credited to your opponent's team but ONLY if that opponent plays the round. If the opponent does not play the round, zero points will be awarded each team.

All matches must start on time. An opponent should not wait for their “match” to arrive. If your match is not on the tee in time you must play in order to win points for your team.

Good news if you're LATE: If you arrive late you may get a ride or walk out to join your opponent. You will loose any of the holes you missed and will not be allowed to make-up any holes played. However, you can pick up the match at the start of the group's next hole.

Exceptions will only be made for match that is missed as a result of an emergency situation. In these instances a scorecard “match” or “make-up” game may be allowed. Request for exceptions must be made to the league manager within 24 hours of the missed match and the determination will be at the sole discretion of the league manager.

Subs:

A female golfer who would rather be in a sub pool than on a team may have her name added to the league's sub list. All subs must have a current GHIN handicap. There is no cost to be on the sub list. Subs do not qualify for prizes but are encouraged to attend any social events. Subs must maintain a current GHIN handicap. If any sub wishes to maintain her GHIN handicap with our league, the cost will be $35.

A list of subs will be published by the league. HOWEVER, teams are not limited to these individuals. A sub may be any female golfer with a current GHIN handicap from any golf course OR an extra golfer from a team that does not have a match or team bye that night. A golfer cannot play 2 matches in one league night and double matches are not allowed.

For the purpose of scoring matches, subs with handicaps from other courses will be scored as follows: All eighteen hole USGA Handicaps will be rounded down to the next lowest even number and divided by 2. Nine-hole USGA handicaps will be rounded down to the next lowest even number.

Scoring:

Before the match adjust your scorecard to reflect your handicap. Dot any holes that require “strokes to be given” in the match. The scoring will be one point per hole or, 9 points. Don't panic. This is not as complicated as it sounds and there are lots of people to show you how it works.

All scores will be posted onto league score sheets each game night. Standings will be sent out by email as often as we can get it done.

Rules of Match Play:
Rules of match play allow a player to “concede” the hole at any time, pick up their ball and record their equitable score. The player who was “given” the hole may choose to play the hole out or, take her equitable and pick up.

Socials:

We will hold 1 end of the season award banquet. The date will be announced in advance. The cost for the BBQ will around $5/person and sign up will be required in advance.

Awards:

At the end of the season honors will be awarded to the winning team, and for other specials such as chip-ins and birdies.

Rules:

I made them all up so I'll reserve the right to change them at any time for the benefit of the league. I'm sure there are many things that can be improved upon. So,if anyone thinks changes need to be made let me know and we'll figure it out.

WEATHER
